3AM wake up call, I rush to the Naked Patisserie commissary to pack 9 boxes filled with tightly packed layers of cake and hundreds upon hundreds of Oreo Cheesecake Truffles. I make it to the airport in the knick of time together with one of Naked Patisserie’s Designers and Amanda Tirol’s Team. Our flight is delayed about 5 hours! Oh my! Finally after noon we board the flight.
We check the truffles and carry the rest of the cake on board the aircraft carrying it layer by layer seeing that it safely makes it’s way to Palawan. We take a van and a boat until, at last, we arrive at Club Paradise in Coron, Palawan. The staff carry the styro boxes above their head knee deep in water and we set up our station in the kitchen to begin prepping for the wedding. Boxing 200 giveaways filled with Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake Truffles and frosting the 3-layer Naked cake nearly 2-feet tall, we finish our prep work in about 2 hours time just as the sun is about the set.

Now to transport the cake— a job for no less than 4 people who carefully tip toe across the sand carrying this towering confection until it makes its way safely to the cake table where it can be seen by all guests at 360 degrees. Teddy Manuel puts the finishing touches on the cake by styling it with imported flowers, I grab a sparkler and get ready to welcome Mr. And Mrs. Wintle to their wedding reception. Time to party!

The wedding was star-studded with the likes of Ogie Alcasid, Dra. Vicky Belo, Hayden Kho, Sunshine Dizon, Karylle, Diana Zubiri, and a lot more! But more than the famous faces I saw at the wedding, what struck me most is how simply in love Iza and Ben are. Their connection and energy was powerful and felt by all guests who celebrated with them. Not to mention the reception was super fun! Iza and Ben set the tone for the night by entering the reception with an energetic dance and later in the evening Ben even serenaded Iza “Magic Mike” style.

The 3-tier naked cake was 2 flavors— lemon on the bottom tier, French Vanilla in the middle and lemon on the top tier. The cake was romantic and dreamy as it glistened under the stars of Palawan and stood tall as a key centerpiece of the reception. Iza said that during the following day guests were still indulging themselves enjoying the cake at a BBQ.
