For many of us, fond memories of nostalgic food bring us back to thoughts of eating at home with our families. For Christian Mark Jacobs, that’s exactly where the source of his love for food began. As a 6 year old hoovering over mom in the kitchen on a footstool, he learned to scramble eggs and make banana bread for Sunday morning breakfasts. Family meals were made with fresh ingredients, more or less healthy, and always prepared with love. By the time he reached high school, Christian was participating in food competitions and cooking dinner for his family sometimes 5 nights a week.
After college, Christian began a small gourmet food business, living in South Korea while moonlighting as a bar tender on the side. Throughout his 20’s, he found himself tasting and cooking his way all over the world. Upon his arrival in Manila in 2015, Christian began baking for friends and family who encouraged him to start his own bake shop or restaurant. From these experiences came his inspiration: to create well-balanced recipes that tell a story and bring people together for laughter, fond memories and to build a greater sense of community. Thus, Naked Patisserie was born.
