Ruffa Gutierrez’ Havana Themed Birthday Celebration

Ruffa Gutierrez celebrated her birthday on June 28 at Manila House Private Members Club with close family and friends for a Havana-themed celebration. Pinky Tobiano, a dear friend of Ruffa’s, hosted the party and styled a private room for an intimate dinner that took guests right back to an eventful night in Havana.

The room was shining bright with stars and close friends like Alice Dixon, Anthony Pangilian, Maricell Laxa, Francis Libiran, Christian Mark Jacobs, Ferdie Salvador, Bubbles Paraiso, Phoemela Baranda, CJ Jaravata, Ella Pangilinan, Dong Ronquillo, Aziza Mondoñedo, Jordan Mouyal, and of course the gracious host Pinky Tobiano accompanied by her partner Juanch Robles.

Ruffa celebrated with a 3-tier semi naked lemon cake with lemon-infused buttercream frosting adorned with handmade sugar flowers mirroring the Havana theme of the night.

Feeling the Havana Nights vibe with this intimate setup styled with a myriad of special touches by “Pink Laces” by Pinky Tobiano.

Julia Barretto’s “Under The Lemon Tree” Birthday Celebration

“Under the Lemon Tree” was a meaningful theme inspired by Marj and Julia’s Barretto’s dream vacation spot in Capri, Italy and the inspiration for Julia Barretto’s 22nd Birthday Party, planned and coordinated by Marj Barretto herself!

The backyard of the Barretto family was transformed by Event Stylist Gideon Hermosa with real lemons hanging from trees and pops of colorful yellow sunflowers and hundreds of lemons almost everywhere you turned— the setting for a magical evening and birthday celebration that took you back to a different place and time. It felt as if you stepped in to the famous Restaurant Da Paolino in Capri, Italy!

Upon entering the party there was a pizza station and a Naked Spread, in theme with the “Under the Lemon Tree” motif.

Some favorites on the Naked Spread were sun-dried tomato and feta cheese frittata, homemade spinach Parmesan dip with tortilla chips, melon with prosciutto, and a fresh vegetable medley with The Naked Foodie homemade Garlic Aioli Dip.

To balance the savory, we added Naked Patisserie Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake Truffles (Julia Baretto loves Oreos), Land Mine Cookies, and Naked Patisserie’s best-selling Strawberries and Cream Cake.

At the stroke on midnight Joshua Garcia carried Julia Baretto’s minimalist 2-tier Naked Patisserie naked cake adorn with lemons and prunes made from sugar, as her friends and family sang Happy Birthday to her and gave their well wishes.

Why I’m Still Not Over Christian & Kat Bautista’s Bali Wedding

I have attended more than my fair share of weddings and events, and I’ve seen some incredible destination weddings— like my best friend Ashley who recently tied the knot in an ancient Mayan ruin in Guatemala, for example. Even so, the special attention paid to every last detail for Christian & Kat’s wedding made this one of my fav weddings of 2018. You guys really made your wedding into a DREAM COME TRUE.

So for those who are wondering, here’s why I’m still not over Christian and Kat’s wedding in Bali.

1. The Bali-Wood inspired welcome dinner was an unforgettable experience.

From the vibrant pops of color to the delicious buffet spread and private “night market” that was set up for guests, this party was hopping. I may have had an impromptu flower fight at the end of the party with some of Kat’s entourage. The theme brought out the “fun” in everyone!

2. The wedding was intimate, and you truly got to enjoy everyone’s company.

The 60-70ish guests that spent the long weekend in Bali for the wedding festivities was just the perfect size. From all over the world, those who matter most to Christian and Kat were there for the celebration. You also realized how small the world is as you find common connections and people with whom you share mutual friends.

3. Kat was glowing, shining and shimmering.

Not only did Kat’s Bali-Wood inspired outfit win Best-Dressed (in my mind) that night. She was stunningly angelic on her wedding day as she said her vows with the Balinese sunset bowing to the ocean. Kat even surprised Christian with a Ukelele song and gave us all a good cry with her sweetness and vulnerability. I also found out that she loves spreadsheets (I do also but I try to keep that on the down low).

4. Christian Bautista was the epitome of dapper in a green Francis Libiran tuxedo.

We know this guy has broken a lot of hearts now that he’s said “I do,” so it goes without saying that he rocked the green Francis Libiran tux like a pro. I asked him how many times wedding guests have asked him if he was going to sing (seemed like it would be the most popular question), and boy did he sing! I’m always up for a private Christian Bautista concert. Diba?

I’m so honored and humbled that the Naked Patisserie team was invited to this entire wedding experience. Kat wanted a rustic donut cake (because donuts are her jam) and that’s exactly what we created for her! 27 sticks of butter and 6 rosemary plants went into the making of the cake. After a couple of tequila shots some of the guests flung to the cake for seconds and thirds! I mean, it’s a party, after all. I’m humbled by your trust for Naked Patisserie , Christian and Kat, and most of all— I’m thrilled that you’ve committed the rest of your lives to one another. God bless!
