Aicelle Santos Ties the Knot with Mark Zambrano

Aicelle Santos and Mark Zambrano tied the knot in Jardín de Zaida in Batangas last November 16 with an outdoor ceremony and rustic garden reception.

Dave Sandoval, renown event stylist, transformed the garden area into a sea of cheerful sunflowers and fresh lemons.

Aicelle’s cake was a 3-tier lemon cake with infused lemon buttercream adorned with fresh strawberries, seeded eucalyptus and real twigs.

The broadway star planned a robust and unforgettable entertainment set featuring famous singers and fellow thespians like Kyla, Paeng Sudayan, The Company, Dulce, Maricris Garcia, and Tim Pavino.

We wish Aicelle and Mark a happy and fulfilling marriage together and, as always, thank you for trusting Naked Patisserie.

Kryz Uy and Slater Young’s Dreamy Cebu Wedding

She’s known as a content creator, author and one of the Blogger Besties and he’s best known as a television personality and, of course, for being the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother (though now quite the successful entrepreneur, CEO of his company Liteblock). Both from Cebu, this couple told tales of an unlikely pairing, neither caring for each other when they first met as “friends.” As time on went on, their attraction to one another grew and blossomed into the romantic love story that plays out now on Instagram for millions of people to see.

The Naked Patisserie Team first met Kryz and Slater in early 2018 when they flew to Manila for their cake tasting. “I’m so impressed I didn’t realize so much thought went into making wedding cakes,” Kryz said on her YouTube Channel. Insider info- there was a bit of back and forth over the cake flavor but Kryz was set on the lemon flavor (Naked Patisserie’s bestseller for wedding cakes). “Happy wife, happy life,” I advised Slater and they proceeded to order a 3-tier Naked cake which our designer sketched on the spot for them.

I received their wedding invitation and noticed the beautiful color motif and floral graphics that Kryz and Slater had chosen and met with the Naked Patisserie creative team. We sent Kryz 3 revised sketches just days before the wedding that would be more befitting for their theme. She replied immediately writing “thanks for this, so sweet of your team to revise the design…I trust your taste, haha.”

The morning before the wedding, the Naked Patisserie Team flew to Cebu with 6 large boxes filled with cake tiers and sugar flowers. I was impressed upon arrival as they had a van waiting for us and an employee from Shangri-La Mactan to greet us and brief us on the upcoming itinerary. One thing I have to say Is that Kryz and Slater take great care of their suppliers! To add to the sweet experience, we got to work with Snoogie Reynes-Mata, one of Cebu’s most reputable and well-established wedding planners.

The ceremony was a garden wedding at Shangri-La Mactan and was nothing short of perfect— with jars of flowers hanging from the trees as the sun bowed down to the see and a modest size guest list witnessing the couple exchange vows and Kryz said with a sparkle in her eye, “I promise to love you with our beautiful kind of love, and today I am the luckiest girl because today I get to spend the rest of my life with you.”

The couple made their grand entrance to the reception venue and cut the cake immediately, with a smile as big as the sunrise painted on Kryz and Slater’s faces.
The couple’s Naked Patisserie cake was a 3-tier edible lemon cake towering 27” high with hand-crafted sugar flowers including Burgundy and peach David Austin Roses, Blush Roses, Eucalyptus, Anemone, and Peonies.

After the wedding Kryz messaged us and said, “Thank you again so much!!!! The cake was perfect! It showed our personalities and perfectly matched the theme of the wedding.” Slater wrote in saying, “The cake was delicious and the design fit our theme perfectly. We’re so honored to have [The Naked Patisserie Team] fly to Cebu with this cake especially for our wedding. It made everything even more special.”

Why We Fly Wedding Cakes Across the World For Weddings

Destination weddings are becoming increasingly popular for many reasons, at the forefront of which is probably the fantasy they bring to life as pristine ocean waters crash against white sandy beaches, fireworks ignite over ships docked at bay as wedding attendees dance and party into the night, and friends and love ones retreat to an ideal destination for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Naked Patisserie first began doing destination weddings organically just a few months after opening its doors. A bride inquired for a wedding at Balesin Island Club, and a member of our creative team flew in to construct a bride and groom’s dream weddings caked– we were hooked. Albeit it logistically challenging for the pastry team, and certainly more effort than delivering a cake to a hotel or venue in the Manila area, there is something fairytale-like seeing the satisfaction of a bride and groom as they cut their dream wedding cake at their dream destination.

Cakes Inspired by Contrast and Pops of Color

The 2019 Spring-Summer Collection from Naked Patisserie is out and this year is all about contrast and pops of color! As always, Naked Patisserie cakes are inspired by nature and are known for being rustic and, most importantly, delicious!

Here are some of our favorites from the photos released so far:

“SWEET and SOUR”

Nothing says summer more than citrus! This 4-tier Naked cake soaked in limoncello and garnished with candies oranges, candied lemons and sprigs of fresh thyme is simply a ray of sunshine.

“MI AMOR”

Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.” That’s the inspiration behind “Mi Amor,” a 2-tier chocolate semi-naked cake with pastel pink frosting, embellished with 2-tones of pink strawberry macarons, Bing Cherries, roses and rose leaves. What’s not to love?

“JUBILEE”

Jubiliee is a 4-tier semi-naked cake toweirng over 26 inches high, symbolizing the spirit of festivity, celebration and a life well lived.

“LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD”

She wandered into the darkness and stumbled upon a big bad wolf, but this tale had a happy ending reminding us we can always find light. Little Red Riding Hood is a decadent 2-tier chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling, finished with buttercream, Bangkok roses, and baby’s breath.

“SECRET GARDEN”

Behind the stone walls there is a secret garden, where Mrs. Craven would spend hours planting roses in the springtime. Secret Garden is a 4-feet tall textured fondant cake mimicking a stone wall with cascading lush pink roses. Perfect for garden weddings!

“GALAXY”

Galaxy is a 7-tier fondant cake that embodies the expansivness of our galaxy and reflects the stars that shine down on us on a summer’s night.
